Benefits of filtered Collagenase
Save time. Reduce handling. Improve consistency.
Filtered collagenase is passed through a 0.22 µm membrane before being lyophilized in autoclaved vials. This eliminates the need for an additional filtration step after reconstitution, saving preparation time and reducing handling.
- Convenience: Ready for reconstitution without additional laboratory filtration.
- Reduced contamination risk: Fewer open handling steps help minimise opportunities for contamination.
- Consistent preparation: A defined filtration step during manufacturing helps standardise enzyme preparation.
- Potentially better recovery: Avoids potential enzyme losses during additional filtration.
Animal-free options for biopharmaceutical applications
For biopharmaceutical research and bioprocessing, animal-free enzymes can help minimise the risk of introducing animal-derived pathogens. We offer animal-free collagenases (Types A–D), purified animal-free collagenase and STEMxyme® collagenase/neutral protease blends for applications where animal-derived components must be avoided. Selected products are also available in 0.22 µm-filtered formats.
Not sure which enzyme to choose? Consult our Collagenase Wiki for guidance on collagenase types, secondary protease activities and tissue-specific applications.
