Worthington Biochemical Corporation

Worthington is a primary manufacturer of purified enzymes and biochemicals for life science research. Founded in 1947 and based in Lakewood, New Jersey, the family-owned company has spent decades refining the purification of enzymes for cell biology, tissue dissociation, molecular biology and nucleic acid research – earning its products a permanent place in methods sections around the world.
CellSystems is the official distributor of Worthington since 1992. We are listed on Worthington’s international distributor directory and supply the complete Worthington range of enzymes for tissue dissociation, primary cell isolation, molecular biology and biochemical research to universities, research institutes and industry.
All products are original Worthington material, shipped from our stock in Troisdorf, Germany. Every lot is delivered with its lot-specific certificate of analysis, and safety data sheets are available for all products.

The portfolio Worthington is best known for: enzymes for isolating viable cells from virtually any tissue. From the classic Collagenases and Dispase through Papain and Trypsin to Elastase and Hyaluronidase, each enzyme is available in multiple purity grades matched to the demands of your protocol. For standardised workflows, ready-to-use Tissue Dissociation Kits combine the right activities for specific tissues. If you are choosing an enzyme or optimising a digest, our Collagenase Wiki covers types, activities and tissue-specific recommendations in depth, or take advantage of the Collagenase Sampling Program and Lot Matching Service we provide.

Worthington nucleases are indispensable tools of nucleic acid research. Our range covers DNase & related products – including the DNase I found in countless dissociation and single-cell workflows – alongside RNase & related products and further enzymes for molecular biology. All with the lot-level documentation you need for reproducible work.

Beyond dissociation and nucleases, Worthington manufactures a broad catalogue of purified enzymes across all major classes – hydrolases such as Chymotrypsin, Clostripain and Cellulase, oxidoreductases such as Catalase and dehydrogenases, plus esterases, lipases and more. Many products are available from as little as 10 mg up to bulk quantities, so the same well-characterised enzyme scales with your project from pilot to production.
