There is no single matrix protein that suits every cell type. Fibroblasts, endothelial cells and muscle cells each prefer a specific protein – or a defined combination – as their attachment layer. Matrix proteins are largely animal-derived and subject to Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009, the EU framework governing animal by-products (ABPs), which makes their import into Europe a regulated affair: USDA health certificates, veterinary border inspection, uninterrupted cold chain. We run this process for every shipment, so the product on your bench matches the manufacturer’s specification.
