Advanced BioMatrix


Advanced BioMatrix is a leading manufacturer of purified matrix proteins for life science research, and a recognized standard for purity, functionality and consistency in 2D and 3D cell culture. From the first contact on a coated surface to growth inside a 3D gel, the extracellular matrix shapes how cells attach, proliferate and behave. There is no single matrix protein that suits every cell type. Fibroblasts, endothelial cells and muscle cells each prefer a specific protein – or a defined combination – as their attachment layer. Our portfolio covers the full range, from purified collagens through extracellular matrix proteins such as fibronectin and laminin to adhesion molecules and peptides for defined, minimal coatings. If you are unsure which coating fits your cells, reach out to our technical team. And since the matrix is only half of the equation, the matching cell culture media from Lifeline Cell Technology complete the setup.

Real tissue is not flat. Cells live in three dimensions, embedded in a matrix and in contact with other cell types – and gels make it possible to bring that situation into the dish. From skin and lung to kidney models, Advanced BioMatrix hydrogels provide the scaffold, and the tunable-stiffness range adds control over the mechanical properties your cells experience. Matrix proteins are largely animal-derived and subject to Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009, the EU framework governing animal by-products (ABPs), which makes their import into Europe a regulated affair: USDA health certificates, veterinary border inspection, uninterrupted cold chain. We run this process for every shipment, so the product on your bench matches the manufacturer’s specification.

Our German-based warehouse keeps a substantial stock of matrix proteins, enabling fast delivery: 24-hour express within Germany, 2–4 working days across Europe, and about 4 days to the UK including the additional import requirements.
