Description
Worthington Collagenase Type 5 contains higher collagenase and caseinase activities and is particularly suited for the dissociation of dense connective tissues and collagen-rich extracellular matrices. Typical applications include synovial tissue, articular cartilage, meniscus, tumor tissue, and umbilical cord-derived Wharton’s jelly for the isolation of fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS), chondrocytes, mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs), and other stromal cell populations.

Available Preparations and Pack Sizes
Collagenase Type 5 is available unfiltered (CLS-5) (see below) and as a 0.22 µm membrane-filtered preparation (CLSS-5) – the filtered version is a standard precaution in primary cell isolation workflows to reduce the risk of contamination.
Preparations are stable for 12 months from date of receipt when stored as recommended.
