Description

Human iPSC-Derived Microglia for Neuroimmunology and Neurodegenerative Disease Research

Human iPSC-derived microglia (iMGLs) provide a physiologically relevant and scalable in vitro model for studying brain immunity, neuroinflammation, and neurodegenerative diseases. Generated from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), these cells recapitulate key characteristics and functions of primary microglia while offering a consistent and renewable platform for neuroscience research.

Characterized by expression of established microglial markers including IBA1 (AIF1) and P2RY12, and functionally validated by robust phagocytosis of β-amyloid aggregates, iPSC-derived microglia enable reliable investigation of immune responses, microglial activation, and neuron–glia interactions in the central nervous system.

Healthy control and patient-derived iMGLs support disease modeling and therapeutic research for neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. Human iPSC-derived microglia are ideally suited for neuroinflammation studies, neurodegenerative disease modeling, drug screening, immunomodulatory therapy evaluation, and translational neuroscience research.
