RPMI 1640-FBS – Growth Medium Kit

RPMI 1640-FBS Medium is used for the culture of human peripheral blood cells. RPMI 1640 supports the maintenance of these cells and proliferation in the presence of the correct supplements.
Hematopoietic cells are used in the study of autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, hematologic malignancies, vaccine development, high throughput screening, and transplant immunology.
RPMI 1640 Medium contains no antimicrobials since these components can cause cell stress and “masking effects” that may influence experimental results. Lifeline^® offers these traditional supplements; however they are not needed, or recommended, to achieve optimal cell performance.
RPMI 1640-FBS Kit Components
RPMI1640-FBS Medium Complete Kit includes frozen basal medium, that contains phenol red, 2 mM L-glutamine, 25 mM HEPES and 1 mM sodium Pyruvate. The Complete Kit also includes Fetal Bovine Serum and GA (Gentamicin and Amphotericin B).

RPMI 1640 uses the highest quality raw materials and incorporates ISO style quality assurance in every production run. Exacting standards and production procedures ensure lot-to-lot consistency. Every production lot of RPMI 1640 Medium is extensively tested using endothelial cells:
• Sterility Testing: Negative for bacterial and fungal growth
• Osmolality: 300 +/-20 mOsm
• pH: 7.4 +/- 0.3
• Endotoxin: <0.5 EU/mL
RPMI 1640 frozen basal medium plus Fetal Bovine Serum may be used for the maintenance of a variety of non-adherent cell types.
